The Learned Skill of Self Reflection
Self reflection is difficult. It is more challenging when you learn it later in life.
That challenge becomes possibly dangerous, when the process of reflection is developed without guidance.
I, personally, have had to learn this skill on my own.
As an adult.
I thought I had it, and maybe I had a propensity to look inward. But that usually ended in repeated bouts of depression, as opposed to enlightenment.
See, once you know what you’re feeling, you need to know what to do with that information.
That missing link between what happened and what happens next is often missing.
